Activities, Clubs & Trips
Extra-curricular clubs are a huge part of school life, helping students build confidence, develop new skills and discover passions that stay with them for years to come.
With over 40 clubs to choose from – including music, debate mate, chess, cooking, sports, and academic subjects like science, Spanish and journalism – there’s something for everyone.

No sign-ups needed. Most clubs are completely free, and students can simply turn up and join in. The only exceptions are the Duke of Edinburgh Award, which require a small fee or registration.
We encourage every student to take part in at least one club each week. These activities help them grow, make new friends and gain valuable experiences. We are always open to new ideas. If there’s a club your child would love to see, we’d love to hear about it.

Trips and visits – exploring the world
Our programme of trips and visits is designed to show our pupils the very best of London, Great Britain and the rest of the world – bringing subjects to life and help students explore the world around the.

From historical landmarks to galleries and theatres, universities to businesses, these trips are designed to inspire and challenge. Last year we ran 72 school trips during the year, including
- Residential rewards trip
- Year group trips
- Subject-specific trips
- Club-specific trips
Our programme of visiting speakers – including economists, politicians, business people and authors – also helps broaden students’ horizons and spark creativity. Visitors represent a wide array of organisations and professions, giving students first-hand experience of the wider world in which they are growing up.
Duke of Edinburgh Award
The DofE Award is a fantastic opportunity for students to broaden their skills, have fun, make new friends, and discover new talents. From volunteering to physical activities, life skills to expeditions, achieving a Duke of Edinburgh Award (DoE) is a passport to a brighter future, valued by employers and universities.
The Award aligns well with our values and ethos and has been part of our school offer for many years. It teaches students the importance of commitment, encourages them to be optimistic, strive for excellence, develop resilience and empathise with others – at the same time as challenging themselves, pushing their own boundaries and supporting others.
We offer the Bronze Award to all students at the start of Year 9. If students enjoy the award, they can progress to completing their Silver Award in Year 10 and their Gold Award in Year 11.
At each level of the award, there are four main sections that the participants will need to complete, in order to achieve their full certificate:
- Volunteering: providing a service to the community.
- Physical: improving skills within a sport or personal fitness.
- Skills: developing practical skills such as cooking or learning to play an instrument.
- Expedition: planning and training for a hike and camping in the countryside.
- Residential (Gold): aims to inspire participants through a concentrated involvement with individuals with different background.
The award is recognised as a true mark of achievement and is regarded highly by employers. We encourage all students to participate in the award, highlighting the importance of its link to careers and employability.
Students gain ‘soft skills’ such as communication, commitment, leadership and teamwork – giving them an edge over other others when applying for apprenticeships, university and their future careers.
