SEND Support

The Academy has a clear core vision of ‘everything is possible when we CARE’, with a commitment to ensuring that all students can be successful and are actively participating in all areas of academy life.  

We have an ambitious curriculum, within which there are universal structures to develop leadership opportunities, e.g., ‘no opting out’, follow up questions and teachers directing and distributing roles within the classroom. Central to this is a commitment to embedding Quality First Teaching and Disciplinary Literacy across the curriculum.  

We believe all students have learning differences rather than learning difficulties, and it is our policy to identify and assess them and ensure that learning is supported and adapted to ensure outstanding progress is made by all students.

We value our partnership with parents and carers

There is a wide range of opportunities across the academic year for parents and carers to liaise with our staff, including the SEN team. These include:

  • Annual Parents' Evenings  
  • Year 7 Evening and Settling-In
  • Year 6 Transition Events
  • Year 11 Raising Achievement Evening
  • Annual Reviews for students with Educational and Health Care Plans
  • Mid-Year and End of Year Intervention Progress Reports

The following organisations provide independent advice and support to parents and carers of all children and young people with SEND.

Lambeth Information, Advice and Support Service (IASS) - provides free, impartial and confidential information about education, health and social care for children, young people, and their parents relating to special educational needs and disabilities.
