Supporting Wellbeing

Strong Minds. Safe Community. Ambitious Futures.

At Harris Academy Clapham, wellbeing is at the heart of our community. We believe students thrive when they feel safe, supported and understood, and we work every day to ensure no young person feels invisible or alone.

Secondary school is a time of growth, challenge and discovery. Our role is to provide the stability, care and structure that allow students to flourish academically and emotionally.

A community of care

Everyday wellbeing

Mental health is woven into academy life. Through our Personal Development curriculum, assemblies and strong pastoral system, students build resilience, emotional literacy and confidence.

Our year teams meet weekly to review attendance, behaviour and wellbeing — so changes are noticed early and support can begin quickly.

Additional support when needed

We recognise students may at times require additional support to promote their wellbeing. We offer access to counselling, mentoring, music therapy and small group interventions, all carefully overseen by our safeguarding team.

Support is personalised, timely and compassionate.

Specialist partnerships

Where needs are complex or urgent, we work closely with CAMHS, Lambeth services and medical professionals. If a student is at immediate risk, safeguarding procedures are enacted without delay and families are supported throughout.

Working together

Parents and carers are central to our approach. Open communication and partnership ensure that every student feels secure and able to thrive.
