Induction Day and Parents' Information Evening: 8th July 2026
As their first, formal step into the Academy, the Year 7 Student Induction Day will take place on 8th July 2026. The exact timings of the day will be communicated closer to the time.

Family 'Meet and Greet' 8th July 2026 - 4 - 7pm Straight After Student Induction
Following the Student Induction Day, we will then host a further ‘meet and greet’ afternoon for parents. Our ‘Meet and Greet’ evening is a chance for you to get to know the academy via a one-to-one conversation with one of our brilliant members of staff and to help ensure you have all the information you need for a great start in September.
There will be two time slots available directly after you pick up your child from the academy along with a presentation from the Executive Principal and the Head of Academy. More details of the evening will be communicated to you closer to the event. We will have all forms on hand should you need them, our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, the SLT team and the Executive Principal and Head of Academy will also be in attendance should you have any questions or require anything further.
This event is a chance to hear directly from key staff all about the Academy, including:
- The Academy Day & Term Dates
- The Clapham Way – Our Academic Curriculum
- The Clapham Way – Our Personal Development Curriculum (including clubs)
- The Clapham Way – Our Behaviour Expectations
- How you can best support your child in their education
- How your child will be supported and our safeguarding processes
- Meeting key staff that you will be in contact with in their first year at secondary.
First Day
The first day of school in September can be a very daunting time for your child. They will meet a lot of new people both their peers and adults across the school. During this day, the head of year and the Assistant Principal will be on hand to ensure the smoothest start to their secondary education. The first day will usually include a longer period of time with their tutor, allowing students to get to know their first point of contact within the academy and getting to know the group with whom they will spend a majority of their time with in the first few days and weeks of the year.
