Options (Year 9)
Here are the subjects that all students at Harris Academy Clapham must study:
- GCSE English Language
- GCSE English Literature
- GCSE Mathematics
- GCSE Combined Science or GCSE Triple Science
- GCSE Religious Education
- Physical Education: this is not a qualification and will not be examined in year 11
Students will also study three other subjects from a wide selection of GCSE and Technical Awards based on their interests and career aspirations.
Our Year 9 Parents' Evening and Options Evening takes place in the spring term each year. To help your discussions with your child:
- Read through the Option Subject Booklet with your child. It contains a lot of useful information about each course such as the course content and specification details
- Attend the Options Evening. This will start with a presentation which provides an overview of Key Stage 4 as well as the options process, followed by an opportunity to discuss the courses in more detail with our subject teachers.
- Ensure that the options form in completed and returned to the academy by the deadline.
